👉➡️Important of being earnest is play by Oscar Wilde,first performed  on  1895, published in 1899, the play is satire upon the Victorian social hypocrisy and shows the comedy of manner by satirize the Victorian society.


The story revolves around  the two  characters jack and algernon. Jack Worthing live  with Cecily cardew,he was gaurdian of Cecily and her grandfather Thomas cardew found him in handbag in clock town of  Victorian station.jack used to visit London as Ernest ,he was having a friend name algernon moncrieff,who was in love with Cecily cardew.  algernon having a fictional friend Bunbury but his servant lane ,who had idea that Bunbury was not real in life. algernon had a cousin sister gwendolen Fairfox,she was falling in love with jack,who hide his identity as Ernest and she was not know about it. Algernon see the cigarate case with the names of uncle jack  and cecily cardew and he realize jack real identity, gwendolen mother lady Bracknell reject jack for marriage  because he was an orphan and algernon also named himself as Ernest to get love of Cecily and being a brother of jack as Ernest and both girls loves name Ernest and also quarrel for the Ernest,miss prism is Cecily governess and she kidnapped lady Bracknell sisters child jack ,ultimately reveal that jack is lady Bracknell nephew,and his real name is Ernest and algernon is actually his brother and play ends with both couples happily United.


The importance of being earnest play mock the life style of upper class people,and shows the double life of protagonist of the play,and shows theme of marriage, hypocrisy,lies and deceit,secret lives,morality Victorian manners and also show the Ernest fixation at the end of story.
